Give me a chance, and I will tell you about the Peace:

The Sound of Christmas.

Can you hear the Peace in Merry Christmas?

Listen closely and you can hear Peace in these words.

The Peace in a smile, Peace in a handshake, Peace in a hug.

The Peace that all the gifts are wrapped and you are done.

The Peace after all the gifts are opened

and exactly what was wanted was found.

The Peace of all the noise, the laughter

of family and friends coming together.

The Peace in a beautiful Candle Light Service.

The Peace of quietly sitting in your home

after all the guests are gone.

The Peace of Christmas as families come together

with smiles, handshakes, kisses and hugs.

Can you hear the Peace?

The Peace of no arguments,

with unkind words replaced with Peace.

Sit back and listen.

You too can find the Peace in the Sounds of Christmas.

Father God, I pray for Peace in this world,

not only at this time of year

when we celebrate the birth of your Son but all year.

 Help us to find that Peace you gave us so many years ago.

In your Son’s name, Jesus Christ.  Amen
